Two questions: a) I have selected "English (UK)" as the preferred

Resolved Question:

Two questions:
a) I have selected "English (UK)" as the preferred dictionary, but the prompts when I'm typing always refer to US spelling. Howe do I correct this?
b) When I use "Track Changes", how do I accept the changes and save a clean document without all the annotations?
Would appreciate your help.

Thanks

To set the correct default language

On the Tools menu, click Language.
In the Mark selected text as box, select the language that you want, click Default, and then click Yes.

For Tracking Changes, Click on the Review Tab, and you then need to Accept the changes one by one or Accept all changes.

You can see this here

Click me to view

When the changes are accepted, the annotation dissapears.

And if you can take a second to rate my service, that would be greatly appreciated.

Question a) answered and all well. Thanks.

Question b): when I click on Track changes, I am given only 2 options, Highlight changes or Compare documents. The drop down menus do not include "Review". What should I do?

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
ok, the Document then appears to be protected.

Open the Tools menu. If you see Unprotect Document listed, select it to turn the Protection off.

Then try to accept the changes.

Let me know the results please
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

The document was earlier password XXXXX which may not have helped.

I have accepted the changes one by one (laborious!) and then the "unprotect document" option showed under Tools in the drop down. The changes have gone, but the text is still highlighted in red. How do i get the document to revert to normal?

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Thanks

In the Tracking section, you should see Final Showing Markup is selected. Turn this off and it should then turn off the highlight.

Let me know the results please

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I only get the "Highlight changes" and "Compare documents" options when I click on Track changes. Nothing about Final showing mark up. Where is it?

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
You will see it as per my picture below

If you are still having a problem, upload the file so I can see the issue.

- Click the following link: http://www.wikisend.com
- Upload the file to that website
- Once it is uploaded, the resulting page will display a "File ID" number.
- Please, give me that "File ID Number"

thank you
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

The file no. is 156136.

I thought it was sorted after I found a Markup option under View, but the saved copy still has there highlighting, so not quite sorted yet.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
ok, for me it is not showing.

But I have uploaded a version under file ID 123540

Choose Tools→Track Changes→Highlight Changes.

Make sure the last three check boxes are not selected.

Done that already but still the highlights remain when I save the document.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Did you get my document, as I am not seeing them

download it via the File ID I gave you please.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I downloaded your file under ref. 123540, used the Track Changes drop down menu to unstick the boxes and then had a clean draft. But when I saved it and re-opened it, the changes were still highlighted.
