on my windows 7 the user service failed the user profile cannot

cannot get beyond first loin screen am using laptop

Please restart the faulty computer, and as soon as it restarts, repeatedly press the F8 key till you get Advanced Boot options.

Then, select Safe mode from the list.

Click Start, type regedit in the Search box, and then press ENTER.

It will open Registry Editor window.

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, you will see SOFTWARE. Double click to expand SOFTWARE.

Under SOFTWARE, double click to expand Microsoft.

Under Microsoft, double click to expand Windows NT.

Under Windows NT, double click to expand CurrentVersion.

Under CurrentVersion, double click to expand ProfileList.

You will see two folders starting with S-1-5 followed by some long numbers. Do you see that under Profile list?

Right-click the folder without .bak, and then click Rename. Type .ba, and then press ENTER.

when i put in .ba it came up on another line but just .ba

Can you copy and paste the numbers of the other folder (same as that), before to .ba?

Please get to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ ProfileList.

Do you see the line with .ba and with .bak as ending?

no only the long number

Please close registry editor and follow the instructions below.

Click Start button, select All programs, Accessories, System Tools and then select System restore.

Customer:

done am in that prog.

Choose, restore to an earlier date.

Shefin :

Select a date when the computer was working fine.

Shefin :

Then, click Next.

Shefin :

Follow the on screen instructions.

Customer:

it tells me to create a password XXXXX disc?

not at this time shall i proceed to finish
