Windows Defender is not working on my PC. I have tried to find solutions and even re-downloading and installing it but it does not seem to be possible. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this problem.

The SAS program is only used periodically - not in competition with Windows programs. I am/was satisfied with WD taking care of security along with MS Essentials

Absolutely nothing.


It appears to be damaged. Probably needs to be removed and re-installed.

Please can you tell me how to fix the problem. I have answered your question. I can't update it - I've tried looking for MS to fix it for me with downloads.

Please disable the "Superantispyware" and try to update the Defender and let me know .

I can tell you now that WD cannot be updated - it just does not work in any way at all. Can you advise me how to uninstall it and re-download it and re-install it. I would like to go to bed shortly.

Are you using MS Essential or MS Security Essential ?

OK, I am giving you two links below, one for the uninstall process and another for the install process.

As, you know already that, WD is now bundled with MSE and uninstalling MSE will uninstall the WD, after that reinstall the latest version of MSE and let me know the result.

There is no hurry, you can try them later and reply me back, because I am also going offline in next 5 mins.

If these steps do not solve the problem then, we will try other solutions.
