hello cant find my dvdrewriter under my computer it has vanished as its not recognising any dvds i put in tyhe drive

i looked in my computer where my dvd rewriter usually is but wasnt there

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for writing back. When you open "Computer" where you normally see your disk drives, do you only have Drive C there? Do you see any drives like Drive E or F with the CD icon labeled as "Devices with removable Storage?

Thank you for that confirmation. When was the last time that you were still able to see the DVD drive or even to use the DVD re-writer? Few days ago? Few months ago?

First, have you tried to run a Microsoft FixIt tool? o get started, please click on this link:
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9740811&entrypointid=MATSKB

Download the tool and then run it. See if the tool diagnoses the problem and then allow it to fix.
