Can you please click on the website below, then click on Join session, then allow the Elsinore / ScreenConnect remote program to run, then we can chat, and I will be able to help you directly:http://220.127.116.11:8040/?Session=183cff23-a21c-4184-814f-5a7507b9fd5aThank you,
Hi, Ihave wxp home edition
I use outlook express as mail.
I have tried to copy my emails to a folder and after that I have tried to open them with word/ pdf but no luck.
All I am trying todo is because I bought a new computer and it runs windows 8.1.
I still do not know how to operate windows 8.1 but i will try.
I am using both computers trying to get stuff from xp to 8.1???
Thank you. I see. Also, what email do you use, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc.? If you go to your email website, and sign in your email address there, do you see all your email messages there? If yes, this is the easiest solution. If no, please try the following:You can download and install and use the MiTeC Mail Viewer program in order to view Outlook express .dbx files:

Thank you,
Thanks for your answer.
Please note that I am not very technical.
What do you mean when you said my email website?
Thank you. Please go to the website below:http://www.talktalk.co.uk/, then click on the Mail option near the top at that website, then log in your email address there, and see if your email messages are there.Thank you,
Yes my emails are there and that is the way I was reading my mail.
The point is that I have a folder with my old emails and I would like to open them as they are in dbx.
I will no longer use xp after 8/4/14as I am afraid that I will not be secure, that is the reason I bought a new computer with win 8.1.
Is there a way that I can use only win 8.1 to send and recieve mail like I used to do, without having to go to my mail web.
I do appologise if I have I have not been coperative
No problem. Windows 8.1 does not have the Outlook Express email program, but there is an alternate email program called Windows Live Essentials / Windows Live Mail from Microsoft, which you can download and install at the website below:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials-other#essentials=overviewotherAfter installing, you can open Windows Live Mail program and follow the steps to set up your talktalk email; the steps/illustrations are at the website below:https://help2.talktalk.co.uk/computer/set-windows-live-mail-talktalkAfter that is done, it will start downloading your emails to the new computer; then use the import option to import old messages .dbx files/folder in windows live mail; full steps:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/import-messages-into-windows-mail-from-outlook-express, and video instructions:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXk_NLO9xocThank you,
Can I try what you have told me before I close up with you just in case I do some thing terrible.
I do appologise

When windows starts to download the folders I am getting a message that the server stopped, so I phoned my server and they did a test and said that on their side everything is working as it should do.
They also suggested that windows live is not properly set could that be???

What happened is that today I had windows pop up and ask me to update HP and I did as I updated to 8.1.
When update finished I got a window saying a problem occured and it was going to be resolved.
The screen went for about 10 minutes and then every thing was normal except my mailand all was gone
I see, the updated windows 8.1 caused the issue. Please go to the website below on the computer:http://www.teamviewer.com, then download and install the TeamViewer program there; keep default / basic / personal options during installation, then tell me the ID and password XXXXX will provide you, don't close the TeamViewer program.Thank you
