if you mean e-mails e.t.c. by 'data', then yes. What exactly do you mean? Remember i am 80 and a bit slow on the up-take!! and not computer literate

Ok lets do this so you lose no data at any point you have an issue come back to me

Ok do this

Follow these 5 simple steps to roll the machine back to when you had no problems.

You will lose no personal Data It only effects system files


1) Click Start in the search box type "System restore"
2) click the icon a box will pop up click Next
3) tick the box show all Restore points
4) Choose the oldest restore point you have
5) Click Next , yes , finish


The Machine Will restart and restore

James, Sorry but i had forgotten. I did try 'system restore' about a month ago with vey little difference to speed.

when is it slow when on the internet when starting up ?

Basically on the internet. I have been told by 'friends' that there is too much junk on my computer and it needs cleaning up. As I said earlier I am afraid of deleting anything in case I mess it all up!
