Hi and welcome. I'm Ansh and today, I will be trying my best to solve your issue.
Is that computer near you now?
Shut it down if its on
It is shut down
Thanks, ***** ***** on and while it boots, keep tapping the F8 key
you will get advanced menu
choose safe mode from the menu and press enter
Let me know if you are able to start the computer this way
turned it on and kept tapping F8. It continued on to the user profile password ***** then failed with the same message
You should time the F8 correctly else that will not work.
Please shut it down and try that again.
how do i time it correctly? what is the start point?
As soon as you power on, keep tapping F8 key till that menu appears
OK it worked this time, Im in Safe Mode
Are you in the desktop?
I now have the password *****
Enter password ***** login
So far, so good ..... I have the desktop and a message saying
User Profile Service
You have logged on with the default profilr
e for the system. Please see the event log for details or contact your administrator
Ignore that error
now, press on start button
OK .... now what do i do?
type system restore in search field and press enter
OK , do I open System Restore?
Recommended Restore ?
No, please choose restore this system to an earlier date
OK .... Choose a different restore point selected
and choose a date when computer was fine and continue with it
System will reboot after restore
Will I still have files that were created after the restore date?
Could this problem have been caused by some form of malware?
no don't worry
It's a common issue
Something may have gone corrupt
I suppose I have just been lucky then, first time in nearly 4 years and the machine runs for about 4 hours each day
It's always better to backup your important data anyways.
Yes ... I back up to an external drive most weekends
Restoring Registry now
thanks, ***** ***** informed
System restore complete .... Shutting down
Awesome, it should restart now
Restarted' password ***** to be accepted
nced System Care Installed which is indicating PC Health is poor
I think that must have caused this issue
Messing with the registry
OK but It has been istalled for a couple of years
Don't trust those kind of softwares actually.
If you want we can setup a appointment for cleaning up the computer later sometime
OK so any recommendations?
IIs cleaning up a long process?
yes, it might take 2 hours
or may be more
I will install few free softwares for that also
So that you can do that later
OK thanks for your help, I'll get back to you on that offer
