Can you tell me please how they are not performing as they were on the laptop?
You mean it will not run Macros at all?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Hi Richard
It is not just the vba that are not working properly. Not all but some of them get to a line of code and then need to be debugged. Not a problem on the laptop,
Also I can click on a forms button on sheet I , that takes me to the sheet I need to go to, but sometimes the form buttons on that sheet do not appear. Again not a problem on the laptop
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Thanks, ***** ***** as expected as Excel 365 does not run Macros as it is only a web based version. This applies to vba / Macro components such as buttons ect.
This is the case for all Office 365 products
Here is the official statement from Microsoft on this
"Macro-enabled workbooks (.xslm files) cannot be opened in Excel Online. To open workbooks and run the macros they contain, use the desktop Excel application. When you try opening a macro-enabled workbook in Excel Online, you'll see a message that tells you the workbook contains a VBA project. To open the workbook and run the macros, click Cancel in the message and then click Open in Excel.
If you can use the content of the workbook without running the macros, you can let Excel Online remove the macros by clicking Edit in the browser in the message. That way, you can use Excel Online to access the data. You can get back to the original workbook by going to a previous version of the file. In the document library, click the Open Menu dots next to the file name, click the Open Menu dots in the workbook preview, and then click Version History."
If you would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Else if you can take a second to rate my service by clicking one of the stars at the top of the screen then submit, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

no message seems to appear
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Do you also have Excel 2013 installed? Else its not going to give this message as it has nothing to open it in. It requires also the purchase of Excel 2013.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
excel 2013 is installed part of the purchase package
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
ok, then looks to be an issue with your browser.
But I am getting the feeling you do not believe that what I a telling you is true?
Therefore I provide the below link that shows you the differences between the two versions to further prove that Macros are not support nor run in Excel 365 (the web version)

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I take it excel 2013 is different to excel online?
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
Correct, Excel 2013 is the desktop version that replaces Excel 2010.
Excel 365 is the Web Based version, that is much more lighter and runs in the browser.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
When I look at the programs that are on the pc, it actually names it as Excel 2013, is the name the diferentiater, or could it be that the update has causd some corruption somewhere
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
It may be a corruption that has occurred, but it is real easy to know.
If it is running in the browser it is Excel 365
If it is running within its own program as Excel 2010 ran, then it is Excel 2013.

definitely excel 2013
Expert:  Richard replied 2 years ago.
what is?
Sorry your losing me here now. you mean you have both Excel 365 and 2013? Or just 2013 and we have spent the last hour on incorrect information about which version of excel you have?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I definitely have Excel 2013, and also have Office 365. Whilst we have been chatting, have been using excel 2013 on the PC, has recorded a macro nd seems to be ok, therefore the problem is the workbook from the laptop being transferred to the PC
2007 to 2013, just run this, would this cause the problem and if so please explain whyCompatibility Report for SAS amend.xlsm

it means you are using formulas that do not work with previous versions of Excel, these can be due to more then 16 nested if statements or references over 65555 rows which will not work in previous versions of Excel.
You are best to upgrade the older machines as well as you will not get around this other then lessening the complexity of the formulas which would stop them from working.

Cheers ***** ***** help Richard, although un resolved, I think my best route is to iron out the errors by recoding where necessary.
I still have the laptop version working properly, its just a shame that by putting it on a memory stick and appling to the newer version of excel that certain parts now wont perform
Again thanks for you help
