Hello,
I am the person that will be helping you today.
You can fix this rather simply by following the instructions below that I typed for you.
- Right click the Flight Simulator 2004 shortcut & choose Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Put a check in the box that says to Run As Administrator.
- Click Apply & Click Ok.
Now when you double click the shortcut to open it, it will ask if you wish to run as Administrator. Simply, press Yes or Allow and you will not have any problems.
I look forward to hearing your feedback concerning whether or not that worked for you.
I hope to hear back that you are all up and running.
I will be standing by,
Jason

Did not work now flags up do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your computer. Press yes nothing happens

In that case, repeat my instructions. In the compatibility tab, put a check in the top box and choose "Windows 8.1". Click Apply and try running it again.

Please, try using Windows 7 in the compatibility list instead.

I am sorry to say, but I have run out of ideas.
For this reason, I am opting out of the question and allowing another expert the chance to help.
The next expert will see all that is on this page, so there will be no need to repeat anything.
When another expert picks this up, you will be notified by email.
Thank you for your patience.

Hello, My name is ***** ***** I will do my best to assist you. When you right click the icon as mentioned by the previous expert, in the compatibility tab you must select Windows XP as in 2004 the simulator would have been programmed for that operating system. If this does not work, another option is to uninstall the game, then prior to installing, select the setup.exe file (which will be on the installation disk) and then choose the Windows XP compatibility mode. It should install properly if the previous suggestion does not make it load. Please let me know if this works or not.
