Hi there,
BCD error 0xc0000098 means:
"The boot configuration data file doesn't contain valid information for an operating system"
You will need to use a recovery disc to repair the damaged Windows files.
If you don't have a recovery disc available or if your computer did not come with the discs, then you can use another computer with Windows 7 Windows 8 or Windows 10 installed to create a Windows 8 installation DVD to recover your system.

Hi,You can create it yourself if you have one of the aforementioned computer systems available to create it from.

On the other computer, do the following:

  1. Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

  2. In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps to create the recovery disc.
