Hi Richard
I downloaded the Windows 10 program which worked fine at first, but now I have no internet at all. I have had an expert try to fix it but I cannot get it to work either wirelessly or with the Ethernet cable. I now would like to just get rid of Windows 10 and go back to my windows 7. Can you help please.

To go back to windows 7, please do the following.
open the Start menu and select Settings. Click the “Update & security” icon and select “Recovery.”
You should see a “Go back to Windows 7” option. Click the Get started button to get rid of your Windows 10 install and restore your previous Windows install. Microsoft will ask you why you want to go back.
As long as it has not been more then 30 days since you upgraded, this will being you back to the previous version.

Yes, I have emails, photos and music. It is a Toshiba Satellite C855.

When you connect it via a cable, what happens when you try to open a webpage?
And what does it show for connection? Limited connectivity?

The icon spins round and then it says page cannot be opened. The icon on my task bar shows limited connectivity.

Connect it via the cable and do the following please
Press the windows key + X and click on command prompt (admin)
In the black window that opens, type each of the command lines below, one line at a time, and press the Enter key each time:
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset netshlog.txt
Then restart the Laptop and check if it now has internet.

Whats the make and model of your internet router? Is it s BT Hub?

We are with Sky, but it goes through a BT open reach router as we have the faster internet, if that makes sense.

On the computer press the windows key + X and click command prompt (admin)
Type
sc config licensemanager type=own
Press enter
Make sure it does not error meaning you typed it correct
Restart the Laptop and tell me if it now connects please.

Sorry, still no internet. I don't know if this helps but a box keeps coming up when I restart saying not all network drivers could be connected. Not sure what that means or if it is important.

Can you press the windows key + R and type in
%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe
Press enter
Defender will then open. click on the Settings button.
Windows 10 Defender Settings buttonThe Settings app will be opened:
Windows 10 Disable Windows Defender
Toggle the "Real-time protection" option to Off.
Then restart and tell me if you now get internet please.

A box tells me that it is turned off and isn't monitoring my computer. I have AVG installed so does that make a difference.

yes, as its causing the issue with your computer, use Avira instead, it is actually better and free and you can get it from my link below
