I have persistent neuralgia type pain around the right. It is not like the pain caused by trigeminal neuralgia but is present most of the time and often seems worse in the mornings.

healthydoc :

Hello and thank you for your question.

healthydoc :

Is the pain burning type, sharp or feel like a tight rubber band?

JACUSTOMER-758z6e0n- :

It isn't sharp but persistent and of a somewhat lower level of pain than a sharp elastic band would create.

healthydoc :

if the pain is not sharp than your pain is related to muscle tension.

JACUSTOMER-758z6e0n- :

It isn't sharp but persistent and not nso painful as what I imagine a sharp elastic band might be.

healthydoc :

It would get worse in the morning when you wake up as your muscle goes into spasm.

healthydoc :

You need to apply most heat compress and take muscle relaxant like flexiril which is a prescription medication.

healthydoc :

If you cannot get prescription medication try naproxen to ease the pain.

JACUSTOMER-758z6e0n- :

Well it doesn't feel like that if the muscle tension experienced previously is like it.

healthydoc :

if it feels like sharp elastic band like than it is due to muscle tension.

JACUSTOMER-758z6e0n- :

What would cause muscle tension? I have a lot of soreness and bleeding in my right nostril and

healthydoc :

most likely you have sinus inflammation that can cause muscle spasm.

JACUSTOMER-758z6e0n- :

I have soreness and bleeding in my right nostril - could that be the cause?

healthydoc :

yes you most likely have sinus inflammation

JACUSTOMER-758z6e0n- :

it isn;'t a spasm it is persistent ie continuous

healthydoc :

you have sinus inflammation leading to such pain

healthydoc :

Please ask further questions.

healthydoc :

As you have a nose bleed you have sinus infection which can lead to pain in surrounding muscles. A neuralgia pain is like electric like stabing pain.

healthydoc :

You need to get evaluated for sinus infection and would need antibiotics to treat it.

healthydoc :

OTC medication may not help with the pain.

healthydoc :

You need to reduce the inflammation

JACUSTOMER-758z6e0n- :

Thank you.

healthydoc :

You're welcome.
