Hi Pete

With a timing light check what the timing is set at ,dizzy could be out of timing .
due to the dizzy being out a few teeth or the timing belt is out .

Check these first ,a very possible issue for your problem .

Hi Greg if i move the dizzy back a tooth it runs flat as a witches tit and won't free rev like the timing is to far retarded and if i move the dizzy a tooth forward the engine has to much pre-ignition and doesn't turn over properly and locks during spinning over.I've had a timing light on it when its running but the notches in the crank pulley are too far left and if i advance the dizzy it just throws them out more in the same direction should the timing be set at the back notch which is red for TDC? as thats where i have it set at the moment.
