what year is your micra
that's ok. Did you replace the pump yourself?
ok good, just wanted to make sure the SCV was calibrated properly.
what happens when you try to start the vehicle?
So the engine will start ok, but for it to continue running you need to give it gas?
is that correct?
are you talking about the immobiliser light or the service engine light?
have you seen what fault is stored?
well the engine code would certainly help
because pumping the gas could indicate an issue with flooding
or the throttle itself.
I'm sorry, this chat box is all messed up
i had been typing and noticed it said "disconnected" on the left and side
when i refreshed it nothing i typed was actually going through
the code is somethign that has to be retrieved with a scan tool
so if the garage didn't pull the code you wouldn't have that info i understand.
something that's pretty common on these cars is crank sensor failure.
the crank sensor reads the rpm signal
which the pump uses to operate.
if your certain it;s a fuel issue this would certainly be a good place to start
but the pumping of the gas pedal at start up, usually indicates either a throttle issue, or flooding condition that is rectified by letting more air in to clear the cylinders
so since you just fitted a new filter, make sure there is no air in the fuel lines first, then address the things i mentioned.
if you run into further questions just ask
