I'm sorry does it GRIND, my phone autocorrected my misspelled word.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

no it does not grind

Expert:  Jake replied 3 years ago.
Well that's a good indication, because I was concerned of the synchronizers.

When the shifter is slack, it does not effect gear operation just the feeling of the shifter?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

how can i repair this or is it expensive to repair in a garage

Expert:  Jake replied 3 years ago.
Should not be too expensive at a lock garage. They will likely inspect the linkage, bushings, and guide plate and replace whatever is causing the issue. The transmission itself should be fine from your description.
