Hi .

Sorry for the late response .

If you have problem selecting first gear , but can select after shifting into 1st then this is a problem with the first gear Synchromesh rings .

graphic

These rings are known to get damaged due to selecting 1st gear before the car has stopped and when the car has over 100.000km .

For this repair the transmission has to be removed and opened for repair .

If you have the transmission oil drained and a sample sent to your dealer they can do test to see if it has
Synchromesh ring metal contents in the oil .

If you do a good flush and replace with new oil this may help if the
Synchromesh ring is just sticking .

Please get back to me for further assistance if needed with the reply button, and not the poor or bad service button this way i can get back you or suggest another expert .
Kind regards Greg
