Hi, I have a nissan navara 56 plate with 12k on the clock.

Customer Question

Hi, I have a nissan navara 56 plate with 12k on the clock. It keeps cutting out when cold and the engine oil level low light comes on. It does run better once it has heated up but there is also a knocking noise coming from the engine

Hi.

If the low oil warning light is on then did you check and refill the engine oil .

The knocking could be due to low oil and possible damaged main or rod bearings .

Was the oil low and if yes how much oil did you need to get itrt back to normal level.

Yes oil level is perfect, it has had an oil change last week, the sump level sensor was replaced and a new fuel filter was put in

. Hi Angus

Is this a knocking or more like a ticking noise .

When at idle will the noise get faster with the engine speed.

Can you locate the ticking / knocking top or bottom half of the engine .
