when I put it in 4wd its not engaging

Hey there, this was a fairly common problem on these trucks

Jake :

what happens is there dust cover on the prop shaft lets water in

Jake :

water in the transfer case in return shorts out the sensors

Jake :

and causes the problems your experiencing

Jake :

to correct it, you simply drain the case, replace the 3 sensors, and install the new revised prop shaft dust boot

Jake :

to correct the issue.

Jake :

If you do the repairs yourself you will spend around $250

Jake :

The dealer service department will charge close to $500

Hey there, well the fact that it seems worse in wet conditions is concerning since that is what causes the problem I originally told you to fix. If what're gets in the case.
You might need to check the sensor harnesses and see any are missing the rubber gasket or are corroded.
