I have an 05 plate Nisan Micra auto with a power door lock

Resolved Question:

I have an 05 plate Nisan Micra auto with a power door lock system. The tailgate seemed to lock itself a few weeks ago & I've been unable to open it ever since! Today I used the remote key to unlock the car & as i did the tailgate finally unlocked itself. Now it wont close at all and the power door lock system wont work at all including not being able to start the engine! Could this be a blown fuse or a problem with the computer system please?

Generally when we see an issue with doors locking themselves its just a simple issue with the key FOB sending continuous signals. This can happen from getting sand or water on the FOB or is just shorting internally at the button contact. This would also explain why it eventually stopped starting the engine because the key battery died.

The key fob battery was replaced approx 1 month ago when problems started, checked the key fob button is not sending a continuous signal,as transmitting light goes out when buttons are released.

Thanks, ***** ***** as the doors are not unlocking and locking themselves intermittently. Then your likely just looking at a faulty lock/latch assembly itself and not an issue with the central locking unit.
