Dr Owen :

Hello

Dr Owen :

When did you have an abortion?

Customer: I had the abortion on the 19 th january 2014 I bleed lightly for a day n half and had nothing since
Dr Owen :

was this a surgical abortion?

Customer: Yes and I also had a scan after and the doctor said I was all clear
Dr Owen :

okay -

Dr Owen :

So you have not had a period now for 3 months (almost) - and I have a few questions...

Dr Owen :

Do you have a thyroid condition?

Dr Owen :

Do you have PCOS?

Dr Owen :

What is your height and weight?

Customer: No to your first question , the second I've never heard of and your third I'm 5f 7 and just over 14 stone
Dr Owen :

what is your weight in pounds or kilograms (sorry I don't use stone)

Customer: I'm about 202 lbs
Dr Owen :

okay -

Dr Owen :

Well what I think you have going on is a possible thyroid condition (a low thyroid level) or a PCOS - Polycystic ovarian syndrome problem.

Dr Owen :

So since you are not having a period another problem could be an elevated Prolactin level.

Dr Owen :

So, I would suggest that you get a few things checked.

Dr Owen :

1. A blood test for Prolactin and a TSH thyroid blood test - these might be causing the problem and are easily treated with medication.

Dr Owen :

2. To Check PCOS - you need an ultrasound of the ovaries, and also the following blood tests: Estradiol, Testosterone, Insulin, and DHEA-S -

Dr Owen :

3. And so please do Not worry - Not having a period is NOT something that is serious - and can be treated.

Dr Owen :

I hope this helps
