Dr Owen :

Hello

Dr Owen :

What is your question - are you wondering why you had a period on day 18 of your cycle?

Customer: Yes
Customer: Normally im
Customer: every 28 days
Dr Owen :

?

Dr Owen :

okay

Dr Owen :

Well it can take a year or more for your periods to normalize - so having a period at 18 days later that usually is not much of a concern.

Dr Owen :

I would suggest a couple of things to check

Dr Owen :

1. Get a TSH thyroid blood test as a thyroid problem can cause this.

Dr Owen :

2. I would also suggest doing a pregnancy test IF you have been sexually active.

Dr Owen :

IF the TSH blood test and the pregnancy test are normal - then you can leave this alone and do not be concerned as this would be considered normal for a period to occur sooner than expected.

Dr Owen :

I hope that helps

Customer: Since having baby periods lighter & less psinfull ?
Dr Owen :

okay - that is a good thing -

Dr Owen :

but Honestly get your Thyroid checked with the TSH blood test - as this is a common problem and if you have a thyroid problem this is easily treated with medication such as levothyroxine.

Customer: Ok been worrying I've got something serriously wrong
Dr Owen :

I understand

Dr Owen :

but please do not worry - not a Major concern at all - so please do not be concerned.

Customer: Had an ferrtine blood test was 7 is that too low my hemming lowing was 12.9
Customer: So worried if bleeding my iron will be worse
Dr Owen :

Well what you should do then is take Iron and Vitamin C to help the ferritin

Customer: Ok thank you
Customer: Is 7 low ?
Dr Owen :

Plus you can have your doctor do an injection of Iron Sucrose too to help your low ferritin

Dr Owen :

yes it is low

Dr Owen :

so that is why I have suggested what I have for you

Customer: Dangerously low??
Dr Owen :

no

Dr Owen :

just a little low

Customer: My doc just said to eat iron rich food & take an supplement
Dr Owen :

I would add iron and vitamin C'

Dr Owen :

That is all you really need - honestly

Customer: How long after having a baby do your periods take to regulate I'm not breast feeding
Dr Owen :

so do not worry

Dr Owen :

It can take up to a year

Customer: Ok thank you
Customer: If my periods keep on every 18 days want could be the problem
Dr Owen :

You are welcome

Customer: ?
Dr Owen :

If you have a period 18 days this is a thyroid problem - I think I have said that a few times to get a TSH thyroid blood test to check

Dr Owen :

so that is all you need to do

Dr Owen :

I wish you well
