Dr Owen : Hello
Dr Owen : This is not that unusual and more than likely by the time. She is 16 she will have normal periods.
Dr Owen : now in the mean time I would check a few blood tests such as TSH, prolactin, estradiol and that is all she really needs to have done.
JACUSTOMER-n9yhr7tk- : what is the cause ?
JACUSTOMER-n9yhr7tk- : why does she need these blood tests ?
Dr Owen : This could be many things such as just that being adolescent
Dr Owen : it could be a thyroid problem, or an elevated prolactin levle
Dr Owen : level.
Dr Owen : Since she already had a period, this is not concerning.
Dr Owen : also if she is very active in sports then a period can stop too
JACUSTOMER-n9yhr7tk- : Are there any other symptons if it is a thyroid problem or elevated prolactin levels ?
Dr Owen : Yes the the tests I suggested
Dr Owen : Many times there are not other problems with young woman.
Dr Owen : But she could have weight gain, sleepy, or leaking breasts
JACUSTOMER-n9yhr7tk- : She is slim average activiity in sports
Dr Owen : Well more than likely it is nothing more than being an adolescent
Dr Owen : up you can check the other diagnoses I have suggested
Dr Owen : but honestly this really is not something to worry about since she already had a period.
Dr Owen : I wish you and her well
Dr Owen : p,ease do not worry
