Customer Question

I am a 43 year old woman and have regular periods. Last week I developed cystitis, I took the sachets but it didn't help, over the last few days I have been discharging a brown substance, dried blood I think. I am not sexually active.

Dr. Lawrence :

Hello, and thank you for your question. I will be happy to assist you. Answers are for educational purposes only.

Dr. Lawrence :

I am not familiar with sachets therapy....what is it?

Dr. Lawrence :

If you took antibiotics for the cystitis, that can cause a simple vaginal infection such as yeast or bacterial vaginosis which could account for your discharge/bleeding.

Dr. Lawrence :

Alternatively, having a recent illness such as cystitis can cause an irregularity to your cycle resulting in some unexpected bleeding.

Dr. Lawrence :

Let me know what you took and I will be happy to explore this with you further.
