This is Dr. David
what is MHRA?
what has your most recent TSH levels been?
what happens when you take thyroxine?
Dear Dr David, 1. Medicine &Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. 2. No idea, but had a test recently. No problems indicated.
To continue. I stopped taking thyroxin 20 years ago because it made me feel very unwell. And went onto Armour Thyroid.
Recently the doctor supplying a prescription for A T has retired. All I'm interested in is finding another doctor
I live in Lincolnshire who is able to issue a prescription so that I can source it from a Pharmacy in the U.K.
we are here to answer medical questions for clients.
I am not able to find you a doctor who is able to prescribe you armour thyroid hormone for you.
I am sorry your GP is unwilling to prescribe it for you.
I would try the synthroid again, perhaps you might not feel unwell from the thyroxine.
also you need to find the results of your recent thyroid blood testing to see what your thyroid hormone levels are.
you might also need to consult a private endocrinologist if you are determine to get armour thyroid hormone.
this is a dessicated thyroid hormone made from the thyroid glands of pigs.
so it is not used much anymore because the amount of thyroid hormone in dessicated thyroid hormone like armour thyroid can be quite variable.
