Dr. David :

This is Dr. David

Dr. David :

have you been sexually active recently?

Dr. David :

if you have been sexually active recently, then this wee bit spotting of bleeding could be from trauma to the cervix from sexual activity.

Dr. David :

if you have not been sexually active, then the bleeding could be from left over blood from the last period

Customer:

Hi yes last Saturday night. Ive had no pain or any bleeding on Saturday, Sunday or Monday tho just today. It looks like period blood as its got a couple of clots through it. I am trying for a baby with my husband at the moment so I am a little bit concerned

Customer:

Should I go to the doctors

Dr. David :

sorry.

Dr. David :

I had to take a doctor phone call.

Dr. David :

you had sex last saturday night?

Dr. David :

that can sometimes cause some left over bleeding a few days later.

Dr. David :

don't be stressed.

Dr. David :

best to try to have sex around your ovulation days.

Customer:

Yes sorry just that Saturday there

Dr. David :

are you calculating to the days when you should be ovulating?

Customer:

Yes trying to tho I struggle to work it out sometimes

Dr. David :

usually women if they are regular ovulate about 14 days after their period starts.

Dr. David :

but this can vary by a few days.

Dr. David :

most people try to conceive during days 10-20 with day 1 being the first day of their period.

Dr. David :

so I would not stress too much. could just be some old left over blood which had to come out and came out late.

Dr. David :

sometimes during ovulation, you can have some spotting as well

Dr. David :

so keep at it and keep trying.

Dr. David :

good luck to you.

Customer:

Ok so I started my period two weeks ago today so I should b ovulating abt now or past few days. Could that have something to do with the bleeding

Dr. David :

yes, ovulation sometimes can cause some spotting as well.

Dr. David :

this is normal.

Customer:

Thanks for your help

Dr. David :

you are welcome
