This is Dr. David
yes, chemo brain or chemo fog is a real thing.
what type of chemotherapy did you have? for what cancer?
Idon;t know what it was called but I had it for breast cancer four rounds 1 every three weeks
could be adriamycin or taxol
have you talked to your chemotherapy doctor about this brain fog?
and if it could be dementia?
are you having trouble remembering?
I don't remember, I didn't take much notice, but it was a regular type nothing out of the ordinary.
I havn't spoken to the oncologist I don't see him anymore, I go to work full time and have had no complaints I live on my own I drive a car I look after my own finances, sometimes I cant remember the name of something it comes to me eventually but not in a split second.
this sounds much more like chemo brain
and not dementia.
I would not stress about what your children say.
they are not health care providers and not doctors.
it doesn't sound like you have dementia.
My GP has been my doctor for 9 years I did speak to her about it she said she hadn't noticed anything out of character.
that is a good sign.
I would not stress about dementia
it does not sound like you have dementia at all.
Thank you very much for your help.
at age 67, as we all get older, it can be very common to sometimes take more than a second to remember things.
you are welcome
best of luck to you
