I have a problem with appetite of my 10 years old daughter.

Hi, I have a problem with appetite of my 10 years old daughter. She does not want to eat recently. She spends a lot of time on her plate with food.

This could be for couple of reasons - with reduced growth speed, she may not be needing lot of food. Or she may be having some asymptomatic infection like urinary tract infection, which may show up on routine urine testing. Please keep her off any milk, snacks or munching 2-3 hours prior to meal times and give for few days a supplement of B complex vitamins few minutes before both main meals. Good luck to her.

Yes, such quiet growth periods are followed by accelerated growth which will accompany increased appetite when infection etc are ruled out by tests.
