Mark :

Hello, my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will try help you with this.

Mark :

What is the gauge reading?

Customer:

gauge zero

Mark :

Ok

Mark :

The first thing you need to do is check the wiring to the sender unit.

Mark :

It won't be a faulty fuse.

Mark :

Use a multimeter to check which wire is the live supply to the sender unit.

Customer:

ok thanks

Mark :

Once you locate this wire, if you earth it out then the fuel gauge should rise. This proves the gauge is not the fault.

Mark :

If the gauge stayed low then it could be faulty and would need to be removed for further testing.

Mark :

If the gauge goes up then next is to check the earth connection for the sender unit. If that is good then the sender is faulty.

Mark :

Do you require anything else?

Customer:

no thankyou

Mark :

No problem.

Mark :

Please remember to rate my assistance.

Mark :

Thanks
