What is the gauge reading?
The first thing you need to do is check the wiring to the sender unit.
It won't be a faulty fuse.
Use a multimeter to check which wire is the live supply to the sender unit.
Once you locate this wire, if you earth it out then the fuel gauge should rise. This proves the gauge is not the fault.
If the gauge stayed low then it could be faulty and would need to be removed for further testing.
If the gauge goes up then next is to check the earth connection for the sender unit. If that is good then the sender is faulty.
