Sorry to hear of the trouble you are having with you phone.

May I ask the Model Number of the phone system you are working with?

May I also ask the AGE of this system and WHEN this issue first began?

Model AL145, the phone is about 5 years old.


The issue started yesterday after I had a repeater to the other end of my house to get WiFi.

OK - that repeater MAY be causing some interference, and causing the handset to NOT be able to connect to the main base unit.

So as a TEST, is it possible for you to unplug the power from the repeater for a few minutes (to turn it off), to see if the connection between the handset and the base comes back?

i have taken the ethernet cable out

OK - let me know if that causes any change in the phone system.
NOTE: You may have to place the handset back in the main base unit, to see if the flashing "base" message goes away.

But I must say that simply unplugging the Ethernet cable from a WiFi repeater may not help, as these devices will sometimes transmit information whenever there is power connected. So the ultimate TEST is to disconnect the repeater from ALL power sources, to make it stop transmitting.

Please let me know what happens.

I have turned off the repeater, the handset is on the base and still flashing.

Hi again,

OK - let's try RESETTING the phone system.

This is done by doing the following steps:
1) Remove the battery pack from ALL handsets in the system.
2) Disconnect the MAINS power adapter from the MAIN BASE UNIT.
3) Disconnect the phone cord from the main base unit
4) Leave ALL disconnected for 10 minutes.
5) Replace the battery pack(s) in ALL handsets.
6) Reconnect the phone cord to the main base unit.
7) Reconnect the MAINS power adatper to the main base unit.
8) If needed, place the handset in the MAIN BASE UNIT for 30-60 seconds.

That should reset the system. Once done, TEST all components of the system by checking for dial tone, and placing an outgoing TEST call.

NOTEL All this should be done with the repeater STILL turned off.

Please let me know what happens for this reset.
