Ask a Phone Systems Question, Get an Answer ASAP!
Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,Sorry I didn't see your question earlier and to hear of the issue you are having.May I ask: 1) If you have this issue with ALL handsets of this system, when trying to call out?2) The AGE of this phone system and WHEN this issue first began?3) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?4) If you have ANY other devices (phones, fax, alarm system, etc.) attached to this same phone line?Thanks
Q1. All handsets.
Q2. About 5 years, problem only yesterday.
Q4. Standard wired phone for when power goes down, BT Broadband router, Sky box.

Wired phone appears to be behaving normally.
You seem to be on right track. Cordless handsets now seem to be working intermittently!!!
Have tried reset. Problem now worse! In that all handsets seem to work but only intermittently and not all 'down' at the same time. Have also tried supposedly fully charged batteries but this still gives intermittent connection. I would buy new set of phones but it may be fault on line or with my internal wiring. This last idea not probable since no problem with broadband. I suppose that I can go to neighbour and try out set up on another line - but not until tomorrow! Thanks for help so far. I'll let you know how I get on. Unless of course you have further ideas.
Hi Greg, Thanks again for your attempts at fault finding on Sat. Have taken base unit and handset across road and have had same intermittent problem. They had noticed a problem but had hoped it would sort itself out. Have reported fault to BT, who are showing on website that fault is near to here, so now waiting for them to contact me. Will report to you on result.
