I have the sl400 and the sl400a. It has been working fine until last week when suddenly when an external call comes through to either phone there is no ringing sound and all we see is the missed call light flashing. if I pick up the phone whilst it is flashing i cant hear anything. when I test call the phone from my mobile there is no recorded message that should be played back to my mobile/ I have been through the handbook and have checked that it is not on silent or call divert or anything that prevents the answer phone message from operating. Callers are getting frustrated that i never appear to be at home and they say there is no answer message

Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,Sorry I didn't see your question earlier and to hear of any issue you are having with your phones.To help you with this issue, may I ask:1) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?2) If you have ANY other devices (phones, fax, alarm system, etc.) attached to this same phone line (not part of the MAIN system), and if so, are they working properly?3) Can you still make OUTGOING calls with your phones? I only ask because from those symptoms, it sounds like your phone service provider is NOT sending the calls through to your location, so they are not reaching your phones.What I would do - as a FIRST STEP - is to either take you phones to a different location and TEST them there OR acquire a different phone and TEST it in your location - to see if it does the same thing (no ringing).That will tell us if this is a "phone issue" or a "phone SERVICE issue", and will take us to the next step.If it is not the phone itself, then contacting the service provider would be the next step.
