I want to tap into the outlet pipe at the top of the hot water

Resolved Question:

I want to tap into the outlet pipe at the top of the hot water cylinder. How do I stop the pressure in the cylinder

XXXXX XXXXX :

The pressure in the cylinder is from the head of water from the tank above

XXXXX XXXXX :

If you turn off the supply to the tank and run the hot taps until nothing come out then there will be no pressure left

XXXXX XXXXX :

You can then cut the pipe to insert a tee

XXXXX XXXXX :

There may be a small amount of water there depending on the fall off the pipework from the cylinder

XXXXX XXXXX :

The cylinder will still be full of water as it fills from the bottom and empties via the top
