Andrew Smith :

When it shuts off, is the fan still running - is ther anything on the display?

JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- :

fan stops and only power light stay on

JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- :

tried heating again only stayed on for about 3 mins

Andrew Smith : Are you able to check power to the fan - it could be a failing motor?
Andrew Smith : Does it spin feely when you think it should be running?
JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- : When the boiler stops there is no voltage on the fan at pcb
Andrew Smith : Is there voltage when you run 1 or 2 hot taps?
JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- : Some times i get190v on live side but no neutral on fan and 190v on aps some times only neutral at fan
Andrew Smith : 190V across L and N on fan, what about L to Earth?
JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- : Do you have any idea ?
Andrew Smith : If the fan is only getting 190V then it will not run, if this comes directly from the PCB then it is pointing to a new PCB required
JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- : Pcb
Andrew Smith : Printed Circuit Board - the brains
Andrew Smith : Is the APS clicking if you blow into the tubing?
JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- : Why wont the fan run on 190v
JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- : Are you iee 17 th
Andrew Smith : IEE 17th?
Andrew Smith : Are you asking if I am electrically qualified including the 17th edition update of BS7671, then yes
Andrew Smith : The fan is meant to run on 240V unless it is running at low speed, which is not enough when the boiler first fires
Andrew Smith : Is the APS clicking when you blow into it?
JACUSTOMER-ccrarac4- : Caps have failed on pcb
Andrew Smith : Caps?

Ok, you are confirming you have found the fault then?
Has there been a power surge to do this - they don't normally go like this, it usually takes a fuse first
