Resolved Question:

Have just had a new bathroom fitted and when we flush the toilet all is ok. But when the cistern is filling if we use any cold tap in the house we get water hammer from the cistern. Any ideas?

Hi , water hammer , caused by high pressure mains water, can be quite difficult to solve . the first thing to do is turn the toilet isolation valve down. If this didn't work , you can put a water hammer arrestor on the pipe work near the toilet .
If you Google water hammer arrestor you will see what I mean. This takes up with he fluctuating. Water within the pipe . also loose pipe work that hasn't been clipped properly usually accompanies this issue
