Name is Greg, My goal is to provide you with excellent service – if you feel you have gotten anything less, please reply back,

This sounds like a typical hydraulic valve adjuster's that are not bleeding correctly .

This is due to the following issue .
1, low oil level
2, Incorrect oil used.
3, Bad oil circulation .

What i suggest you do first is check the oil level if low add to correct level.

If level is correct i suggest you do the following before condemning the oil pump ,as low oil pressure will also give you this problem .

But i would tend to go in the direction you have bad oil so do the following first .

Get a good engine flush agent like one from liquid moly .
Add this to the engine oil and then start the engine and let run for 25 minutes at idle .

After the 25 minutes drain the oil and remove the oil filter .
Replace with an original oil filter and Porches recommended motor oil

The retest the tapping should be complete gone or just tap for a few seconds ,if this is the case then do an engine flush on the next engine oil change , do the oil change not more than 5.000 miles , i would personally do this every 3000 miles but with you using full synthetic 5.000 will be good .

If still as bad an oil pressure test should be carried out to make sure the oil pressure is good .

Should you need further assistance with this issue then please get back to me with the reply box below .

Kindest Regards Greg
