I think I might be able to help you with this problem, but I will need to ask a few more questions before offering an Answer:

1: How old is the printer?

2: Are the photocopies it now makes OK in black ink as well as colors?

3: By 'it will not print from the computer', I presume you mean that it does not respond (as opposed to feeding blank sheets of paper through it or that sort of thing.) Does it show any error message, on either the computer, or the printer itself? if so, what is the error message(s), in full and exactly, please?

4: How is the printer connected to the computer? (USB, or wired or wireless network connection?) And, how are you aiming to have it working eventually?

5: Please inform me whether you have a Windows PC or an Apple computer.

on your PC, and let me know what the Windows type/version now running on your PC is. Also please check for the 'System Type', which should be about half-way down the System info window, and should be either 32-bit or 64-bit. Thanks.

the printer is around 3 months old

3, it does not respond and it does not show any error message


4,it worked fine wireless don't know what happened but now I have got a usb cable just to get it working

I am here... I was offline for a bit, I hope you'll forgive me.

If the printer is that new, then it is still within its manufacturer's warranty protection period, so if worst comes to worst and it turns out to be defective, Canon UK should fix it for free for you.

If it copies in black ink and other colors, then its inking system is OK by and large.

Non-responsive means either the interface or the driver/settings on the computer, or the USB cable (if there is a USB cable), or the printer's control circuitry, have something wrong with them.

OK, Windows 7 (to sum up) printing via wireless to a Canon MX525 printer, which suddenly ceased responding to the computer though otherwise is in good working order.

Does the printer print reliably from the USB cable connection, if you don't try to configure it for wireless printing instead? (Further measures that might be taken can be figured out from this particular point, it is important.)

Do you have any sort of device that is new that you brought into the area where the printer is, more or less, such as a new cordless phone or the like, that could possibly be producing radio frequency interference with the (computer's wireless signals to the ) printer?
