Thank you for your question, my name is Richard.

Can you tell me please which version of windows you are running.

And was the printer working on the computer before?

Thank you
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi Richard I am running windows 8 and yes the printer was working before. I changed some ink cartridges then it stopped printing.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Thanks David.

Put the old ink cartridges back in, does it then print?

I want to see if the cartridges are the issue.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi Richard I replaced the cartridges still nojoy

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
When you switch it on, does anything on the printer happen?

Do you see any lights on the printer?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes Richard, the on button is showing it is like a half moon with a line through it, also a flashing orange light on the right hand side.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
ok, the orange light is important.

How many times in sequence does it flash?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

On off on off continuisley

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Is the printer connected to the computer via a cable or via a wireless network?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I have it plugged in to a socket and it is wi fi so I take it that means wireless I am not to up on these things.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Thats ok David

Is it connected directly to the computer via a cable?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

No Richard the only cable is the one for the plug to the socket.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
ok, then it is likely the printer lost connection to the wireless network.

Can you remove the power from your wireless router (this is the wireless box provided by your Internet Service Provider).

Then turn off the printer and wait 3 minutes,

Plug in the power to the wireless router and wait 3 minutes for it to start.

Turn on the printer and then try to print.

Let me know the results please

Thank you
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi Richard, Well the only thing that it is printing over and over is a status sheet it wont print any thing off the computer.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
ok, restart the computer and then try to print David.

Let me know the results please

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Well I tried to print but the print icon on the web page has gone. I think I will just give up I cant be bothered any more it just frustrates me more
and more the longer I try.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
We are nearly there I believe David

On the web page, press CTRL + P

This will bring up the print screen

let me know how you go please.

I understand the frustration, but we will get to the bottom of this.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes the print page came up but I had to take it off to answer you do you want me to bring it up and then do something else with it.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
Just print, it can be anything, we just want to check if the printer is now working David.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

All it keeps saying is windows cannot connect to printer.

Expert:  Richard replied 3 years ago.
ok, then you need to reinstall the printer as it has lost connection to the wireless network David

Can you click Start, Devices and Printers.

Right click on the printer and select Remove.

Then restart the computer.

Connect the printer to the computer via the cable that came with the printer.

Run the installation again, like you did when you first received it, and connect it again to your wireless network.

Once done, disconnect the printer from the computer and try to print.

Let me know the results please

Thank you
