brother printer dcp135c....scanned a photograph that needed

brother printer dcp135c....scanned a photograph that needed scratches removing etc then tried to print it error message change unable 51 came on......looked for any bits of paper stuck in machine ........none that I could see....on/off button doesn't turn printer off......printer head won't move...........please help

Do you have tried to move the printhead, after powering off the printer ?

hi,yes tried to move printhead to see if there was anything underneath it printhead didn't move

Then, power off the printer and try to move the cartridges to the center and let me know ?

the cartridges are on the right hand side at the front on the outside of the casing ....they cannot be moved....onced they are inserted

OK, so that is the reason, you cannot move the cartridges then, the problem is with the waste ink absorbers,it means the self clean feature is not working.This is normally caused by full or saturated waste ink pads or absorbers.The absorbers can be replaced from any local repair shop.But, before that follow the steps below, to reset the printer. If this do not help, then you have to replace the pads from the repair shop.

You may already tried these steps, but once more open the link below then, watch the video very carefully and try to reset the printer and let me know the result.

The printer model in this video may be different, but the instructions will be same for your printer model.

error 46......the cartridges do not move once they are inserted into the relevant slot? its the print head that should move and it doesn't
