I own a HP Photosmart Printer B 110a and after replacing the HP ink cartridges when closing the cover there was a message which reads 'The Printhead installed is not intended for use in this printer or is damaged Refer to Printer documentation'
How can I get it right Thr printhead has been in my printer for at least three years. Can you help

This message appears when the print head may be possible defective.


1) Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over
2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head and place them on a paper towel and turn off the printer by unplugging it
3) Remove the print head from the printer and use cotton swabs dipped in hot water or isopropyl alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head and each ink cartridge including the contacts on both.
4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
6) Attempt to print something to test

Then let us try this:

Try soaking the print head which will unclog blocked jets:
1) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head and lay them on a paper towel
2) Remove the print head from the printer
3) Pull the print head straight upwards to extract
4) Soak it in hot water for an hour or so
5) Remove it from the water, let it dry completely!
6) Reinstall the print head and cartridges and test it

Hi Van' I watched the video but the the man doing it only told me how to install the printhead and so I have given up and after seeing local Ulric company' have decided that I should buy a new printer after discussing the matter with my daughter. Thanks for your help.
