I have an HP 6510 printer. I have just fitted a black remanufactured

Customer Question

I have an HP 6510 printer. I have just fitted a black remanufactured cartridge (for the first time) and the printer message is "One or more cartridges appear to be missing or damaged.Install or replace the affected cartridges." However, when I open the access cover, the cartridge carrier does not automatically appear, as is normally the case. nor can it be persuaded to. So I can't get at the cartridges. Any ideas? Hi,

I apologize that I did not get you on chat. However, I can assist you further in Question and Answer mode.

The issue is caused by the remanufactured cartrdige. Please do not use refilled or remanufactures cartrdiges with your printer. It will damage the printhead and the printer too. The cartrdige causes the issue and not allowing to move the carriage freely.

Please turn off the printer and unplug all its cables. Try moving the carriage manually using your hand and remove the faulty cartrdige. Then, try turning on the printer without the faulty cartrdige and check if it moves fine.

If it moves fine, please replace it with a new and genuine cartrdige and check if the issue persists. Please let me know if the issue persists, so that I can assist you further.

The carriage will not move by hand.

Expert:  Shefin replied 2 years ago.
Hi,

Can you try removing the cartrdige without moving the carriage?

Or try puching the cartrdige to seat properly and try moving the carriage. Please let me know the result.

Thank you.

The carriage is in its normal position, to the right of the access cover, in a position where the cartridges cannot betouched.

Expert:  Shefin replied 2 years ago.
Hi,

Open the cartridge access door.

With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product. Unplug the power cord from the power source or electrical outlet.

Reach into the cartridge access area, and then manually move the carriage.

  • If the carriage is stuck on the right side of the product , move the carriage to the left side of the product.
  • If the carriage is stuck on the left side of the product , move the carriage to the right side of the product.
  • If the carriage is stuck in the middle of the product , move the carriage to the right side of the product.
