Ok, you are needing the Driver installed for your new printer.
There you go Sir or Ma'am...
Download the installer, then run it.
It does not need a disk.
Tried this already..... iPF5000 imagePROGRAF Printer Driver Ver.3.50-2 for Windows
but still prompted for disc?
Not sure....should be straight forward, but Windows tries to install ipf driver, but fails?
Tried from Canon site, and others?
Ok, give me 30 minutes... Need to make a call....
To get the proper installer for you...
Printer is on, and connected via usb, and recognised as ipf5000
Right the OS will recognize the Firmware in the Printer.
Be back I'm 30 Sir..
Maybe helps to add that I'm not sure exactly which file I should be downloading, but have tried several.
Ok, Vista 32 bit correct???

OK, what is the exact error on the screen?????
I have downloaded these. They go into my downloads folder, but still don't seem to be recognised by installer?
This printer was previously operated through Mac?
No error on printer screen. Windows uploader just says....cant find driver
Ok. Now let us save it to the desktop.
Select the Desktop as the save path.
Has it saved to the desktop?
Doesn't give me the option to save to desktop....just says run. I have the file in my downloads folder.
When I try to open. Just says it wants to overwrite existing file
Run it please.....
Still get the massage to install disc, or cancel
OK, not normal.... Reboot please....
We will try it once more when you return...
tried again. will shutdown reeboot
Above is the correct file to get to Sir or Ma'am.
No joy I'm afraid.

"Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength."- CHARLES SPURGEONSocialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.- Sir Winston Churchill -
Can't believe Churchill said that!!!.....Being a bit of a conspiracy theorist....I would suggest he merely adopted that phrase..!!
Lol, he said it...
I'm sure he did.....playing both sides!
Clever bastards these so called leaders of democracy lol
Yeah, but back to the far more serious issue of my printer lol
Did you double click on the Install file?
Got it to unpack, but don't know to where. will try again
Ok.... Please not the path that it installs to.....

Next time say "No" or not to overwrite.
Thought it may save to cdrive ...program files, but cant find it
iPF5000-Drv-Win-350-2 Tried that.....Just got repeated confirmations not to overwrite
OK, do a search for: iPF5000-Drv-Win-350-2 and that folder should show up...
Seems I have two options 2014, or 2012?
Then click on the exe.
It will begin to install.
In 10 minutes or less it will have completed the install process.

The installer is Faulty Steve.
You will have to call Cannon to get them to send you a Driver Disk, Oh and it should be free of charge since the installer is faulty.
Is this a printer issue.....pc issue?
Nope, the Software from Cannon.
Ah will do.
It keeps asking for a Disk...
Thanks for your help
So that means that the installer is "faulty".
Please consider a positive "Rating" for the services received Steve if you would please.
I think you've earned your monies on this one. I still have a problem I'd like to sort on mu ipf61000, but that's for another day if you're up for it?
Yup, I am up for it...
How do I get in touch with you?
Oh, I can send you an offer of Service and you can agree to it. Then when you have the free time, we can work on the other issue.
