Printer Repair Questions? Ask IT Technicians for Answers ASAP
Hi, My Name is Michelle and i will be assisting you
please turn off printer and take out the cartridges
clean the nozzles of the cartridge and head manually with a cotton swab wiping off any excess ink
print a test page and check
if still the issue persists, try the below
once done try printing a page or 2 and check if there is any improvement
Hve just done a test page and still no yellow!
did you try the printhead clean step
Yes, still no yellow!
please take out yellow cartridge and shake a bit so that little ink comes out
wipe off excess ink with cotton swab and then reinsert
now print a test page and let me know what happens
No yellow at all. Don't know what to do now.
does the printer give any error message as well
No, haven't had an error message.
and by any chance do you have any other yellow cartridge to try with
I have tried three new cartridges and wasted them all trying to get the yellow to print!
ok..well its not the cartridge for sure
to me it seems to be an issue of clogged printhead
All the colours are together in the one cartridge.
see the problem is of a clogged printhead
now the number of time we try cartridge alignment or head cleaning steps, that would consume ink without giving any results
I have cleaned the printheads countless times, but to no avail.
yes and multiple cleaning steps is consuming the ink
usually in case of a clogged printhead, ink dries out within the head thereby clogging nozzles causing one or more colors not to print
in such case, the printhead needs to be replaced
however, as an intermediate step...you can try a head cleaning kit
let me find one for you onlinr
give me a min ir 2 pls
here below i am listing a link for the head cleaning kit which is under 10$
you can try this..but if even after this there is no change, the head would need to be replaced
here below is a link for kodak printhead available on ebay
let me know if you have any questions
How much will that cost me. I am 75 years old and this is all too much for me. Looks like I am £21 down the drain and no further forward. Probably have to buy another printer. Thanks for trying.
to add on instead of replacing printhead which would be around 120$or more it would be better to buy a new printer
unfortunately, for a hardware fault i can only diagnose and let you know what part is at fault but cannot make a bad part work again
hope you understand
