I HAVE A RICOH SG3110DN SUBLIMATION PRINTER WHICH IS NEARLY

Resolved Question:

I HAVE A RICOH SG3110DN SUBLIMATION PRINTER WHICH IS NEARLY 2 YRS OLD .I haven't had any problems before but now when i changed the inks for new cartridges as soon as i put the cyan cartridge in place the printer keeps turning itself over and seems to pump all the ink straight into the waste ink collector. It has recently been moved in transport which i am wondering could be a factor.

Waitongu2 :

Hello

Waitongu2 :

Is it only affecting the Cyan ink catridge?

Waitongu2 :

Are you there?

Customer:

yes I tried the printer without the cyan cart and it seemed to be ok

Waitongu2 :

Do you have an empty Cyan cartidge?

Customer:

I tried with an empty cart and it kept turning over as it does when you first switch the printer on

Waitongu2 :

Does the printer look like it was dropped? because i see that printer is not turning off when you need it to

Waitongu2 :

Have you received a red light and a message saying maintenance tank full?

Customer:

no the printer was not dropped but it has been moved in transit between premises and I moved it myself so I know it has not been dropped

Waitongu2 :

ok.

Waitongu2 :

We can try reset the maintenance tank see if this fixes the dumping problem.

Waitongu2 :

Have you ever done this before? If not i can send you a link to a short video tutorial on how to do it.

Customer:

ok do i need to have it all set up because at the moment it is in the corner of my room disconnected

Waitongu2 :

no actually while disconnected is fine. Have a look at this video then let me know if you have questions.

Customer:

ok bear with me i am doing it now

Waitongu2 :

ok

Customer:

ok ready

Waitongu2 :

Have you turned it on?

Customer:

yes

Waitongu2 :

What is on the screen?

Waitongu2 :

one moment please. please look at the video.

Waitongu2 :

Customer:

its is saying waiting, but as soon as i put the cart in its telling me low cyan ink but i know its is a new cart

Customer:

have tried to watch the video but i am failing

Waitongu2 :

We might have to take it to take it in to get it checked out I am thinking either the sensor either needs cleaning or replacement.

I have now watched the video but i cannot get the printer to the ready stage to reset as this problem arises as soon as i put the cart in it keeps saying waiting on the screen and continually turning over

Mike,
Lets see what would happen if we followed the instructions on the video without waiting for the ready stage.
