\1: Unplug power and USB
2: Open door and hold power button.
3: Connect power.
4: Close door, then release power button
5: Connect USB and an press power to use

The error code is a service error indicating ink absorber full. usually this involves getting the absorber replaced and for the same the unit needs to be serviced

however, there is an intermediate reset step that you may try

Turn off printer by pressing the power button
press the Resume button and press Power button.
Keep holding down Power button and release Resume button
Press Resume button 2 times then release BOTH buttons
Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.

once done turn on unit and check

Operation tried twice, but unsuccessful. By 'resume button', I presume you are referring to a print button (colour or black). Am I correct please? If not, which one IS the resume button please?

Tried twice more unsuccessfully. Thanks for information. 'Error 5800 - contact Service Center' has appeared twice more. Printer is 5/6 years old. Any thoughts please? As we have moved twice in the last 3.5 years, some things (including the manual) have not been unpacked. Can you provide Service Centre info. &/or means of obtaining unit online please?

as the unit is out of warranty, i would like you to know that the ink absorber is a sponge pad that gets full

Michelle :

turn off the unit....slide the cradle to one corner..now have a look..you will be able to see a sponge...if you are able to take it out, then clean it with water...let it dry for few hours...then insert it back in...else you can contact a local repair store a get a new sponge and insert that one in and this error should get fixed

however if you are unable to try this, you may get the unit serviced through a local printer repair store

Michelle :
