A. Stevens :

Hi, I am A. Stevens here to help with your question!

A. Stevens :

Just to make sure I understand correctly, you are using the Copy function of your Epson XP 405 to copy a 4x6 document and when it prints it comes out much smaller.

A. Stevens :

Is that correct?

Customer:

I have not recd. an answer yet as the mail you sent did not give one. maybe I am unsure how to open the mail properly----- roger

A. Stevens :

Roger - I am unable to give you a good answer because I need a bit more information first.

A. Stevens :

Can you answer some questions for me about the problem so that I can give you the best answer?

Customer:

what you need

A. Stevens :

When you copy the 4x6, you do it from the glass scan bed correct?

A. Stevens :

then you hit copy on the panel and it comes out much smaler than expected

A. Stevens :

is that right?

Customer:

yes, but it should read 8x6, not 4x6 ---roger

A. Stevens :

sorry about that, mistyped it

A. Stevens :

Is it one particular 8x6 you are having trouble with

A. Stevens :

or all

Customer:

all

A. Stevens :

When you go through the prompts for copying on the screen, do you know how to access copy settings

A. Stevens :

after you select the color mode, if you press the down arrow button it will take you in to copy settings page

Customer:

yes

A. Stevens :

Do you see the different options there?

Customer:

yes

A. Stevens :

What do the different size options say?

A. Stevens :

What what about the Reduce/Enlarge field?

Customer:

a4 a5 5x7 8x6

A. Stevens :

So when copying 8x6 have you come in here and selected 8x6 before copying?

A. Stevens :

Seems that the auto detection may not be working

Customer:

yes

A. Stevens :

OK, and then how about the reduce/enlarge?

A. Stevens :

Could you tell me one other thing, does your scanner function work correctly?

A. Stevens :

From your description it seems that maybe the image sensor that is scanning the documents may be faulty.

Customer:

its on 100 p cent

A. Stevens :

Have you tried enlarging?

Customer:

no

A. Stevens :

Try to enlarge it..maybe this would be a workaround.

A. Stevens :

But I think if you really want to fix the issue you would need to get the Printer replaced or serviced by Epson.

A. Stevens :

Are you still within the warranty period?

A. Stevens :

Normally 1 year.

Customer:

no

A. Stevens :

I can provide you the contact info for Epson warranty support if you would like

A. Stevens :

Oh..ok. well then I suppose you could pay for a repair if you chose to.

A. Stevens :

Maybe the enlarge will resolve your issue though.

Customer:

no thank you as I have a man in the village

A. Stevens :

OK. I hope that he can fix it for you...

Customer:

thankyou
