Just to make sure I understand correctly, you are using the Copy function of your Epson XP 405 to copy a 4x6 document and when it prints it comes out much smaller.

I have not recd. an answer yet as the mail you sent did not give one. maybe I am unsure how to open the mail properly----- roger

When you copy the 4x6, you do it from the glass scan bed correct?

then you hit copy on the panel and it comes out much smaler than expected

yes, but it should read 8x6, not 4x6 ---roger

When you go through the prompts for copying on the screen, do you know how to access copy settings

after you select the color mode, if you press the down arrow button it will take you in to copy settings page

Do you see the different options there?

What do the different size options say?

What what about the Reduce/Enlarge field?

So when copying 8x6 have you come in here and selected 8x6 before copying?

Seems that the auto detection may not be working

OK, and then how about the reduce/enlarge?

Could you tell me one other thing, does your scanner function work correctly?

From your description it seems that maybe the image sensor that is scanning the documents may be faulty.

its on 100 p cent

Have you tried enlarging?

no

Try to enlarge it..maybe this would be a workaround.

But I think if you really want to fix the issue you would need to get the Printer replaced or serviced by Epson.

Are you still within the warranty period?

Normally 1 year.

Maybe the enlarge will resolve your issue though.
