Chime in when ready...
This still does not work. I am trying to print an insert to a hand made greetings card. Therefore the text (happy birthday) is in the middle of the right hand side of the sheet of paper which for an A6 portrait card is 140mm by 204 mm (being slightly smaller than the actual card so that when it is folded is remains inside the card). The paper is in the rear tray short side down (long side does not fit) and so the printing is landscape. This is so for the 5" and 6" square card inserts and also the 5"x7" - the paper being twice the width of the finished card. On the test print the text is at 90 degrees to the paper and is the left hand side of the paper and is falling off the paper.
hello, how are you doing??? Now reading what you typed...
Ok, what program are you using to print the card??
Chime in when ready....
Apple Mac Pages and have the latest download for this
Give me a few moments please.
I must asked, has it ever printed this type of card before???
Yes - before I upgraded to Maverick and Yosemite, although it did fail a couple of times. As far as I can see it is only a different size of landscape orientated paper with the text to one side. It will print this way with A4 paper.
Reading your comments...
But not A6??
No, nor for the other sizes mentioned. When the document is created it shows ok on the screen and also when requesting the print it shows ok but the text is not in the right place anti is also not all on the paper
Have you considered using one of the many pre-made templates???
Since there are many of them out there to use...
As far as i'm concerned this is very basic stuff and I could have done it on an old manual typewriter in a fraction of the time. If neither the word processing package nor the printer can do this then I feel that i'm wasting my time.
Ok please hold. Reading you comments.
As I have been chatting with you, I have been reading in the MAC Forums for Pages.
There seems to be an issue with Printing using A6 Portrait.
There is a workaround that I found for this issue recommended for users of the Pages program.
The issue seems to when you are trying to manually configure the dimensions of the printing area when using A6.
The work around I found is:
Now please consider not punishing the messenger here...
It seems that there is an issue with pages printing when a user is attempting to define the area to print. VS, a Template doing so.
When it comes to using A6 as the Print media VS A4.
Thank you for your help. I sometimes think I should have bought a different computer but my sons said I would be better off with this one. Perhaps I should change my hobby and take up knitting instead of making cards.
Wait, as a fellow Brit..... I must say "No Way!" We are made of stronger stuff then that.
I should say running a Tea House...
Sorry for my silliness.
Please consider a Positive Rating for the service Received.
Have a good day Sir or Madame.
