I have a macbook pro and an epson 500dx printer and when I try to print anything I get communication error. How do I fix this?

OK I've done that - i have a spare one too if that helps

now click on apple menu..preferences..print and scan

now in the print windows click on the epson printer icon and click on minus sign to remove it

OK I've done that - there are 2 DX5000 printers on that menu do you want me to delete both of them

I've done that - there is also on old DX4400 listed on there that I no longer have. do I delete that too?

do you see any option that says reset printing system..if yes please click on it...if not please close the print and scan window

It says click Add (+) to set up a printer

now connect the usb cord of printer to mac

now open preferences from apple menu and print

now click on plus sign and add the epson printer

once added try a print and let me know

It's picked up the dx5000 without me having to add printer - shall I try and print with it anyway

No it says sending data but doesn't print

ok seems we will have to do a complete reinstallation

and one again delete the printer

during installation it will ask you to connect printer

then only connect the printer

It looks like it has downloaded two drivers

ok...so did it run any installation wizard

It says software successfully installed but didn't ask to turn on printer

ok..is the printer connected to mac
