I have a canon pixma IP4500 6/7 years old

Customer Question

I have a canon pixma IP4500 6/7 years old (at a guess) All red lights on indicating out of ink, but utility shows all inks over half full. Test print shows pink colour bleeding into cyan strip. I need some help please!

After discovering bleeding ink I have done nothing further

Michelle :

open the cover and remove all the ink cartridges

Michelle :

store it is an air tight container

Michelle :

use a dampened cloth mixed with water and alcohol and dampen a lint free cloth and clean the carriage head including the copper contacts

Michelle :

NOTE: when you have removed the cartridges unplug the printers power cord teh head will not move

Michelle :

after cleaning the head carriage clean the cartridges and install them back

printer and check how it goes,

on your computer, right click on printer icon..printer preferences...maintainenence tab

select head clean\deep clean option

Michelle :

once hed cleaning is complete try printing a test page and check if there is any improvement

Iam sorry but I was very disappointed by this service. Because of delay I phone support at Canon who were quick and efficient and explained the situation. I got the impression that Michelle did not know how to help and the advice was not relevant as it turned out. As I had stated that I needed help urgently made it particularly disappointing.
