After installing the driver, did you then plug in the USB cable to your Mac?

driver not compatible with current OS

I see that your Mac OS is 10.9 and the printer is compatible with 10.5 and below.

WesPCDr :

I really don't want to buy a printer every time I upgrade the OS

Click the APple in teh menu, then click System Preferences,
then [Print & Fax] to bring up the
[Print & Fax] window. Click [+], select [CP780]
from the pop-up window and click [Add].
After you have finished registering your printer,
click [SELPHY Photo Print] from the Dock (the
bar at the bottom of the desktop).

Yes, it's painful, I had to buy a new printer when I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 8.1

The instructions above might allow you to add it manually.

just get the message software printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the manufacturer blah,blah!

Ok. I've been looking at the Canon website printer model and Mac OS version.

Customer:

the printer does not show in Dock!

WesPCDr :

It looks like everyone else has the same problem as well.

WesPCDr :

The only suggestion was to use a driver that is close to the model you have. When you try to install the printer, can you see a list of drivers.

WesPCDr :

If so, look driver that is the closest make and model to your printer.

WesPCDr :

Unfortunately, if that doesn't work, then the only other alternative is to purchase a new printer.
