There are a few different things that can cause this and a couple different parts so we would need to troubleshoot to find out for sure. What is the exact and entire error including any numbers?

The printer is not printing. When print is pressed for any document a window appears on the computer screen referring to sending a fax

Do you mean the dialogue shows a fax as the printer name? How is the printer connected to the computer?

At the top of the window it says

Send fax - HP Officejet Pro 6830

Connection is usb cable

In the print window it should show something that says printer name with a properties or preferences button next to it.
Click on the name and change it from the fax to your printer, then send the job.
